Mountain bike
The mountain bike trails around San Vigilio are among the most beautiful trails in Europe. That’s why they have been chosen to be part of the notorious mountain bike competition “Transalp Challenge”, which has set one of its stage finish in San Vigilio.

- Al Plan/San Vigilio– Râs – Costa - Val – Pré – Soröa – Curt – Al Plan/San Vigilio (tour length: 9 km, height difference: 200 m, tour time: 1.5 hours)
The route starts in San Vigilio and takes you along the provincial road towards La Pli de Mareo/Pieve di Marebbe. In Râs, at the beginning of the straight road section, leave the main road and climb up on the right following the street reversements that lead to the hamlet Costa. Continue through the wood to Val/Valle della Torre. Here you swing right to ride slightly downhill. Traverse the hillside and follow the trail that takes you past Pré and Soröa. The trail mostly rolls along meadows and fields and right after Soröa it winds through the woods to reach the intersection with the provincial road to the mountain pass Furcia. Riding back along the provincial road you pedal past the idyllic hill of Corte with its little church and get back to San Vigilio.
- Al Plan - ´Ciamaor – Brüscia – Al Plan (trail length: 4 km; height difference: 100 m; tour time: 20- 30 minutes)
Short, easy walk, partly on asphalted road and partly on gravel road. Start in Al Plan and follow the street to Pederü. After the sports field turn left and walk slightly uphill through the wood to Brüscia (water reservoir). Descent to San Vigilio.
- Al Plan/San Vigilio– Pederü – Fanes – Limo – Fanes Valley – Fiammes– Ra Stua – Senes – Fodara Vedla – Pederü – Al Plan/San Vigilio (challenging tour)
(trail length: 60 km, height difference: 1700 m, tour time: 6-7 hours)
On asphalted road from San Vigilio to Pederü. From Pederü you ride past the lake of Piciodel and climb up to Fanes and farther up to Limo pass. The trail then leads on past the lake of Limo and down to Gran Fanes.
Shortly before reaching the mountain hut, the trail angles to the left and takes you downhill along the rather stony path rolling down the Fanes Valley. Once you get to the bottom of the valley you follow the course of River Boite and pedal along the main road until you reach the turn-off for Ra Stua (right bend). Pick up the narrow paved street and climb up to the mountain hut Ra Stua. Continue up the pathway through Salata Valley until you reach the mountain refuge Senes. (you will have to push your bike up a short steep section). From Senes you ride to Fodara Vedla and down a curving gravel trail to Pederü (the downhill is intense so use extreme caution!) and back to San Vigilio.
